This piece holds a lot of meaning for me. It’s based on the album and movie Imaginaerum by band Nightwish. The story is of a man with Alzheimers getting lost within his mind, unable to find what is real. While he is comatose, he’s experiencing a wondrous land called Imaginaerum, but he’s being chased by a monster which are the embodiment of his horrible childhood memories. The painting depicts the blurring of reality and fiction.
This painting took me a number of days to complete and ended with over 69 million pixels and over 100 Photoshop layers.
